At Maddie’s Miracles, we believe every child living with severe disabilities deserves a chance at a better quality of life. If you or someone you know is caring for a child with profound special needs, we invite you to apply for support through our Miracle Program.
We’ve helped local families with:
- Wheelchair-accessible vans
- Home modifications like ramps and lifts
- Medical equipment not covered by insurance
- And more life-changing resources
Nomination Criteria:

We focus on helping children in Berks County and surrounding areas who live with serious neuromuscular diseases or rare genetic disorders. Our mission is rooted in love, local impact, and lifting the burdens many families face.
You may nominate a family if:
- They are living with a member who has a significant medical condition or disability that impacts their daily life.
- They require medical equipment, home accessibility, or support services that are not fully covered by insurance
- The family resides in Berks County or a nearby area (e.g. Lancaster, Chester County, Philadelphia)
Nominations may be submitted by parents, caregivers, social workers, educators, medical professionals, friends, family, etc.

Our team reviews each application with care and compassion. We’ll reach out if we need more information and will follow up with updates throughout the process.
Each miracle we fund is a partnership—with the family, our generous donors, and the community that surrounds them.

Criteria for Benefit Selection
APPLY NOWEach year, we select families in Berks County and surrounding areas based on three main criteria:
- The severity of the child’s medical needs and the challenges it creates for care and mobility
- The family’s financial need, especially when insurance or other funding falls short
- The potential for real impact—we prioritize projects that will significantly improve the family’s day-to-day life
Annual Fall Enrollment (For Projects Over $5,000)
APPLY NOWThis is our primary application period for larger miracle requests, such as:
- Major home modifications (like stair lifts, wheelchair ramps, or widened doorways)
- Accessible vehicles or large medical equipment
- Any high-impact, one-time need
How it works:
- Applications are accepted throughout the year
- Projects are reviewed by our Board of Directors in the fall
- Funds are awarded each December
Ongoing Supplemental Support (Smaller, Year-Round Needs)
APPLY NOWIf you have a smaller request that still makes a big difference, this is the path for you. These may include:
- Transportation assistance
- In-home medical or care supplies
- Therapy or classroom equipment
- Benefits consultation
